This is the eve of one of the most important and Historical nights in our lives as well as our children's lives.
No matter who you voted for or how you feel about the events that are going to be transpiring tomorrow, this will be a day none of us will ever forget. The first African-American will become president. This is such an amazing time in history for all of us.
I can remember where I was when Reagan was elected, where I was when he was shot, When the Challenger blew up, Desert Storm, 9/11, invading Iraq, and a few others, but this will be one that when I talk about it with my kids they will have their own personal thoughts and feelings about it, not just something they read about in a book or stories that they have head from me or their dad. This will be their History.
I can remember as a little girl my grandmother telling us stories about historical events that happened when she was young. I can also remember her telling me that she would never, in her life time, see a woman or an African-American become president. That this country would never accept it. Well ,almost 1 year to the day since she passed away an African-American will become president. I can't help to think about what she would say about this.
Remember to pray for this man and his family. As Christians we are called to lift those in leadership up in prayer. To surround them and cover them with prayer. Pray for God's will. Then go one step farther and trust that His will, will be done. No matter your thoughts or feelings about this new President - he will be the next President.
Remember that there is no man or woman on the face of this earth that God can not use. Enjoy this day in History. We will be talking about it as well as our kids will be talking about this and their kids, and their kids........etc.....
(Well until Jesus returns anyway!!)
